Pregnancy care

At your first visit, Dr Saadie's team will give you a payment schedule showing the cost of each appointment and any other costs to consider. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on:

• any medical conditions or special requirements
• your test results and the health and development of you and your baby
• your level of private health insurance

Each appointment is paid on the day.

What Medicare covers

With a current GP referral, you can claim a Medicare rebate for consultations with Dr Saadie. Medicare also contributes to some scans and blood tests.

Once your out-of-pocket costs for out-of-hospital medical services in a calendar year pass a set threshold, the Extended Medicare Safety Net can increase your rebates. Make sure your family is registered as a group with Medicare so your costs are combined.

What your health fund covers

Private health insurance helps with costs while you're in hospital, including your hospital stay and part of the doctor's fees for the birth. It doesn't cover visits in Dr Saadie's rooms. Check with your fund that your policy includes pregnancy and birth services and that any waiting period (usually 12 months) will have been served by your due date.

Hospital costs

Your hospital will tell you its current bed and room charges when you make your maternity booking at Sydney Adventist Hospital or Norwest Private Hospital.

Gynaecology

Consultation fees are payable on the day, and you can claim a Medicare rebate with a valid GP referral. If you need surgery, Dr Saadie's team will give you a written estimate of fees beforehand, so you can check what Medicare and your health fund will cover.
