Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Dr Chris Saadie's practice handles your personal and health information.

Last updated: November 2026

Dr Chris MJ Saadie's practice ("we", "us") is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles, and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW), including the Health Privacy Principles.

What information we collect

We collect the information needed to provide you with safe, high-quality care. This may include:

  • your name, date of birth, address, phone number and email
  • Medicare, health fund and billing details
  • your medical history, examination findings, test results, referral letters and other health information
  • details of your GP and other health professionals involved in your care
  • emergency contact and next-of-kin details

You can deal with us without identifying yourself, for example by asking a general question by phone, but we can't provide medical care anonymously.

How we collect it

We collect most information directly from you: at appointments, by phone, by email, and through the forms on this website. We also receive information from your referring doctor, hospitals, pathology and imaging providers, and other health professionals involved in your care, with your consent or where the law allows.

Information sent through this website

This website has two forms: a general enquiry form and an appointment request form. When you send a form, the details you enter are delivered to the practice by email so our team can respond. We don't store form contents on the web server.

To protect against spam, the server keeps a short log of each form submission that records the time, the form used, whether it was delivered, a scrambled (one-way encoded) version of your IP address and your browser type. It does not record your name, contact details or message. These logs are deleted regularly.

Please don't include detailed medical information in a website form. Dr Saadie will discuss your health with you at your appointment.

How we use your information

  • to assess, diagnose and treat you
  • to communicate with your GP, hospitals and other health professionals about your care
  • to arrange tests, procedures and hospital admissions
  • to manage appointments, billing, Medicare and health fund claims
  • to respond to your enquiries
  • to meet our legal, professional and insurance obligations

We don't use your information for marketing, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

We only disclose your information for the purpose it was collected, for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, with your consent, or where the law requires or allows it. This may include your GP and other treating practitioners, hospitals, pathology and imaging providers, Medicare and your health fund, and our medical indemnity insurer.

Service providers and overseas disclosure

We use trusted providers to run the practice and this website, such as our practice management software, website hosting and an email delivery service. The email delivery service that sends website form messages to us (Resend) may process those messages on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure our providers protect your information in line with Australian privacy law.

Some pages show a Google Map, and the site loads fonts from Google. When you visit those pages, Google may receive your IP address. This website does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we store and protect it

Your records are kept securely, in electronic and paper form, with access limited to staff who need it. We keep health records for at least the period required by law: for adults, at least seven years from the last visit, and for information collected while a person was under 18, until they turn 25.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see or get a copy of your health information, or ask us to correct it if you think it's wrong. Please make your request in writing to the practice. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. A fee may apply for copying records, and we'll tell you about it first. If we refuse a request, we'll explain why in writing.
